Lladro

About a month and a half ago, I was getting ready to move to my new condo. I moved mostly by myself, so I started with moving the stuff I didn't use very often. One of those items was my Lladro Christus statue.I first bought my statue about 5 years ago. It stayed in its carefully packaged box until last summer. I thought "I have this great statue. Now that I'm all growed up, I'll actually set out my pretty statue." So I did. And I enjoyed it.

Then I tried to pack. I had saved the original box that the statue came in so that it would be safer when I had to move it next. As I tried to put it back in its box, I definitely dropped it. And it definitely broke. I felt horrible. I still have the broken pieces.

The good news is that as I was walking down Rodeo Drive during my recent trip to LA, I happened upon a Lladro store. They didn't have a Christus in store that day, but if I ordered one, they would have Rosa Lladro sign it for me when she came into town. So I did. It hasn't come yet, but I'm super excited for it.

I'll still probably fix my old one (it's only in about 6 or 7 pieces) but display it in a less kid-friendly spot in my house.

  1. You dropped it!!! Oh how awful! That's even worse than when I broke the sail off my jade dragon boat while flying home from Hong Kong. At least it was only in two pieces and you couldn't tell that it actually needed a sail.
