My 6 readers already know this, but I thought I would post it for posterity's sake. Last weekend, I got engaged to Jason Peterson, heretofore referred to as "my friend" in this blog because I don't like to announce things like my dating life on the internet.
Last weekend we flew to Utah so we could meet each other's parents. On Friday night, his parents, my parents, and he and I went to the Cheesecake Factory to get to know each other. After dinner, he found some time alone with my dad to ask his permission.
On Saturday morning, we went to breakfast at Thanksgiving Point with his mom and his sister. I was thinking "he couldn't possibly propose with them here." But then they left and he and I went to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. I figured he was going to propose there, and if he didn't, then it was because he was trying to really throw me off guard. He needed a little bit of help getting to the part of the garden he wanted to go to, but once we got there, things went great. He proposed in the Secret Garden at Thanksgiving Point, which is a smaller version of what you would imagine from the book of the same name. He gave me that book and when I sat down to thumb through it, the ring and a poem he had written were inside. Frankly, I'm having a hard time believing that it's happening to me, but I'm enjoying it all the same.
sweet!
ReplyDeleteI finally get to see a photo of you two together! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteGive that young man a slap on the back and a hardy handshake from us. Very well planned and nicely romantic proposal.
