What we've been up to

Actually, not much. When we lived in Chicago, we always were going on some little adventure. Here in suburbia, my adventures consist of Target and the park. Which is fine. It just doesn't make for exciting things to talk about.

So I'm going to talk about my kids!

Jason is gone most weekends for work and so I've got the kids - and usually my bed - all to myself. But sometimes we do a little bit of co-sleeping because when faced with the prospect of holding a baby at 3 am while sitting up or holding a baby at 3 am while lying down, I choose the latter. Ben always manages to end up in the middle of the bed, sideways. Which means not only do I only get about a third of my bed, but I also get his feet kicking me in the back. And I remember why I try not to make a habit of co-sleeping.

We dyed Easter eggs at my brother's house. Luke wasn't as into it as I wished he would have been, but I guess I wasn't that surprised. He has a difficult time with new things.

Jason and I left our kids at my brother's house for a night and went up to Lake Tahoe. We were planning a weekend of tennis and sun. It blizzarded instead and we barely made it to our hotel, even with chains on our tires. Of course the snow melted by the time we left the next day, but it was still pretty cold. Oh, and the next weekend it was probably 80 degrees. Whatever.

View from our hotel room in the morning. The lake is somewhere under the clouds.

It was freezing and these were our warmest clothes. Under-packed much?

Okay, maybe that counted as an adventure.

From here on out, there's just a variety of pictures from around our house.
Ben started sitting!
This is such a classic Luke smile.

This was a complete Pinterest win. He worked on this for 20 minutes.

Posing with his masterpiece
We really need to stop using the bouncy seat. He's asleep, by the way. When he's awake, he gets out and then rolls halfway across the room to the toy that he wants.

I don't feel like I post as many pictures of Ben. So here is another one. He sure loves his binkie.
One of his first times wearing a tie. He looks so grown up to me.

Channeling LeVar Burton

Luke had a hard time taking a nap one day. He finished his nap in his dad's arms and my heart melted just a little.

It's amazing how entertaining boxes are. Both boys sat and played in this for 20 minutes or so.

  2. Luke looks so grown up!! Headed to Chicago next month...wish we could catch up. Heck, I'm heading to SoCal in a couple of weeks, but I think Folsom is the other end.

    1. Yeah, SoCal is not close. If you ever made it to SF or Sacramento, then that would be doable.
