A Day Downtown

It has been a beautiful summer in Chicago. Except for a one week heat wave, the average has been mid-70's or low-80's. Yesterday, we took advantage and went downtown. We grabbed some lunch and then went to Crown Fountain, which is basically 2 giant towers with a face on each that occasionally spew water at each other. It's a popular spot to cool off in the summer.

Luke wasn't so sure about it at first
He kept running away from the water and back towards the stroller, which he wanted to push

More staring at the towers

Jason finally cajoled him into the water
Warming up to the idea

Coming back to check on the stroller, which I hid to convince him to play in the fountain

Staring at one of the towers (which always have water coming off the sides as well)

Aaaannndd running back for the stroller

Our Tigger decided that jumping in the water was a good idea

Getting pretty soaked in the process
Far away view of one tower spewing water
I tried to get Luke close up to it

But he wasn't having it

Jason and Luke being cute
Snack break

More jumping

We finally let him play with the stroller. He pushed it around for a good twenty minutes

And had a great time
He chased a few pigeons

Then he pushed the stroller some more, this time by the Bean
Our camera died about this point, but we lied on the grass in Millennium Park for about 30 minutes, enjoying the far away sounds of Lollapalooza and the sunshine. Luke pushed the stroller some more, emptied the diaper bag (a favorite activity of his), and climbed all over his lounging parents. We had a pretty fantastic day together. In some ways, I'm really going to miss this city!
