Planetarium

Jason and I went to the Planetarium in Chicago yesterday. Chicago libraries do this awesome thing where they have a limited number of passes to a bunch of the museums and zoos around town. If you have a library card and they have passes available, you can just go check one out of the library and bring it back after a week. In the meantime, we get to see cool stuff for cheaper.

We had a great time. We saw some movie about stars, looked at exhibits about telescopes and stuff, and played around with the planet displays. And we actually took pictures!

They had an interactive space shuttle for kids. I tried on the "jet pack"

Jason wouldn't try on the flight jacket.

Jason had fun trying out the stuff. I'm refusing to include the picture of him on the astronaut toilet.

Porthole of the space shuttle

They had this "moon walking" simulation so you could experience gravity on the moon.

A lunar rover (or capsule...or something...). Sorry it's a little out of focus. It was dark in there.

A replica (?) of the martian rover.

A meteor. The sign said it weighed over a ton. I didn't believe a rock that small would be so heavy...it was.

Lake Michigan from the inside of the Planetarium.
