Labor Day without work

For the last 6 months, Jason has worked in Chico on the weekends. Since I work during the week, we never had a day off at the same time. EXCEPT for on federal holidays that don't fall on weekends. Like Labor Day! Early Monday morning, we took off for the Bay.

We stopped at Muir Woods first. I'd never been, even though I lived in the Bay for a couple years before I married Jason. We were glad we got there early because parking there is ridiculous. As it was we had to park a mile down the road. By the time we left, cars were following anyone who looked like they were about to leave and snatching up the newly vacated parking space.

We didn't stay very long because we just stuck to stroller friendly trails. But it was a beautiful day and the park was so pretty.

After that, we parked (for free!) on the north side of the Golden Gate bridge, and hopped on one of those city tour buses. The bus took us all over the city and we could get on and off at our leisure. We had a great time. It was a fun way to see a large part of the city.

Great end to a great day together.
The bus made one large, meandering loop around the city so by the end of the day, it dropped us back off at our car on the north side of the bridge. It was a lot of fun to do, but it probably wouldn't be worth it if you had a bigger family. The bus tickets weren't incredibly cheap, but we did save ourselves the hassle of paying tolls and finding parking.
