30 for 30

No, I haven't given up on my blog. Yes, I'm this far behind in my life.

Normally I don't post about my birthday, but I'm making an exception this year, only because it was a big milestone. It was my star birthday this year, meaning I turned 30 on the 30th of January. Jason surprised me by coming home from work at about noon. He brought me home this delicious thing:

It's a peanut butter pie. He knows me well.

We didn't do much that day except for get take out for dinner and watch TV on Netflix.

Notice there are 3 candles on the left and none on the right? That's 3-0. We don't actually own 30 candles.

Our family. Side note. See those funky fly-aways by my eyes? Every few years they grow in super short like I cut my bangs wrong. The mean girls in high school called them "Annette hairs" because I complained about them once in the locker room. Awesome.

A few days after my birthday, Jason took me on the real surprise for my birthday. He organized a "pizza-capade." He found 8 pizza places near our house he had heard were good or that he wanted to try. We went on a pizza scavenger hunt. At each place, we got one slice, which we shared (and did not eat all of) and then rated which places we liked the best. I loved that he put that much effort into something and we had such a fun time driving around and eating.
