Notre Dame

Contrary to what you might think, based on the number of posts that are solely about Luke, Jason and I do spend time without him.  As soon as we found out we would be in Chicago this fall, we bought tickets to the BYU-Notre Dame game in South Bend, which is only a couple hours away. We were going to bring Luke with us, until we found out that Notre Dame requires every human, no matter their age, to have a ticket to the game. So we managed to get a babysitter for 11 hours on Saturday. It saved us a ton of money, especially since we swapped for babysitting hours.

We had a great time at the game. We had seats next to a couple of our friends from our old ward. Notre Dame fans were really quite nice and the campus was really pretty too.

The Notre Dame players sing their school song (?) after every game

After the game we toured some of the campus. This is Touchdown Jesus, which is right by the stadium.

The cathedral on campus where they hold mass several times a day, including after games.

We went to about 30 seconds of mass, but it was packed and so we left

"The Grotto". It's a wide-mouthed cave with candles that are lit for the dead.
