We moved! Like a month ago, but I'm finally getting around to showing pictures of our new place.
| Saying goodbye to our old apartment. Our first house as a married couple. The place to which we brought Luke home from the hospital. A lot of good memories. |
We love our new apartment. It's on the third floor of a walk up (for those of you who haven't lived in a major city, that means no elevator). Which is fine, except that it sucked moving in. We could not have done without our friends' help (thanks Mike and Kenny!).
| Our living room. We love the exposed brick. The windows overlook the street. |
| Our kitchen. I'm reveling in the counter space. And the dishwasher. The door on the right is to our balcony which overlooks the courtyard of our building. The hallway to the left is where we continue our journey... |
| The hallway from the above picture. That is not our front door. It's the back door to the alley. The front door actually is right behind me as I'm taking this picture. The door just to the right is one of our bathrooms. The folding doors just beyond that is our laundry (!). The next two doors are the bedrooms. |
| One of our bathrooms. Yes, we have 2 full baths. I love it! BTW, all of our toilet paper and trash cans are out of Luke's reach. He's like a cat with the way he gets into things. |
| One view of Luke's bedroom. It is just beyond the laundry closet. His windows overlook the courtyard. There is a walk in closet just to the right, out of view. |
| The rest of Luke's bedroom. |
| Our bedroom, which is at the end of the hallway by the back door. Forgive the unmade bed. The door on the left is to the master bathroom. |
| The rest of our bedroom. |
| Our bathroom. With a jetted tub. Which I've enjoyed several times already. |
We're basically in love. Two bathrooms! In-unit laundry! Jetted tub! Dishwasher! Counter space! Not sharing a room with Luke!
The parking situation is a little dicey. If we get home later than 5:00 pm, we basically have to park 2 or 3 blocks away. And we are averaging 2 parking tickets a month. We could pay for a parking spot fairly nearby, but at $150 a month, which is a rip off, even for this part of Chicago.
I heard you moved! your place is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a super awesome apartment! It looks nicer than our house!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to figure out how you have a shelving unit in Luke's bedroom with all the stuff still ON it. If he gets into toilet paper and then garbage can, why in the world would he not see the fun in pulling books, etc. off the shelves?
I'm not 100% certain why he isn't as entertained by the books. We put all the books we cared the least about on the bottom shelf in his room. He actually doesn't spend that much time in there though. He occasionally wanders in, but is much more excited by our bedroom and the bathroom. A few of the little trinkets are now on the top of the shelves where he can't reach them. If it becomes a problem, we'll probably just start keeping his door closed. We keep all of his toys in the front room anyway, because that's where we are.
DeleteHow fun! What a cute place...I think it's bigger than our house :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you guys. Luke is getting so big. I think it's time we got together again...do you have any Utah plans soon? Lemme know
Beautiful place, Nettie!
