Burnt Beans

So I was trying to make something fun for dinner tonight. You know, because it's Easter. I decided on Navajo tacos and I was making the pinto beans from scratch. I did everything right until about an hour and a half ago when I went to take a nap. Despite filling the pot with water before I went to sleep, my apartment now reeks of burnt beans. I'm hoping I can salvage my new-ish pot that is currently a black-bespeckled-with-beans kind of color...
